Import license
Rice imports are subject to tariff rate quotas. The Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Board was privatized in  2002. Any Taiwan-registered commercial enterprise is now allowed to produce, distribute and sell alcoholic beverages. Tobacco production, distribution and sales has also been liberalized.

Produktkrav
Märkning av livsmedelsförpackningar skall vara i enlighet med the Sanitation Standard for Food Utensils, Containers and Packages.

"Marking, Labelling and Packaging
Chinese labels must be used on all food products sold at retail. The labels must have information about the name and address of the manufacturer of importer, date of production and/or expiration date and list of ingredients. The label must also have information about nutrition information. Nutrition claims are divides into two categories. appropriate intake needed and supplementary intake may be taken. The first category covers nutrients such as calories, fats, cholesterol, sugar, sodium and saturated fats, for which excessive intake could have a negative effect on health. The second category covers nutrients such as fiber and various vitamins and minerals, for which insufficient intake could have a negative affect on health. As of January 1, 2003 beverages and dairy products are required to provide nutrition labelling whether or not the products makes a nutrition claim. Imported products that do not comply with the requirements will be refused entry into Taiwan.

Importtullarna i thailand beräknas på varans cif-pris. En administrativ tullavgift tas ut som beräknas på fakturavärdet.

Kött/köttprodukter, mejeriprodukter
Taiwan ställer krav på egna inspektioner av svenska anläggningar för att tillåta export av livsmedel från Sverige. Livsmedelsverket har idag ingen budget för att finansiera olika länders krav på inspektioner i Sverige. Företagen/branschen måste i nuläget själva finansiera dessa inspektioner.

Till följd av det svensa BSE fallet 2006 stoppas vissa köttprodukter till Taiwan.

Fisk/fiskprodukter
Importtullarna för fisk och fiskprodukter varierar mellan 10, 15 och 25%.

Bageriprodukter
Importtullarna för bageriprodukter varierar från 5 - 25%. 

Choklad och konfektyr
Tullar mellan 10 och 27,5% tas ut vid import av chokladprodukter till Taiwan. 

Kaffe och te
Rostat kaffe importeras tullfritt och 2% tas ut vid import av kaffeextrakt. Högre tullar 17 och 25% tas ut vid import av te. 

Drycker, mineralvatten
Märkningsbestämmelser för drycker innehållande alkohol.

Andra beredda produkter
Tullar upp till 25% tas ut vid import av övriga livsmededsprodukter.
