Every month 10 new Swedish companies enters the Indian market. Two of these companies are registering their own subsidiary in India. In January 2010, we had about 800 Swedish companies doing business with India with a value of over 1 million SEK/year. 136 of these companies has their own subsidiary here.

In the Business Climate Survey 2009, the year of global financial turmoil, the Swedish companies in India reported good business performance, and 9 of 10 Swedish companies revealed plans of expansion! Even though India in the survey was considered to have favorable business climate, many companies pointed out the overwhelming challenges in bureaucracy, corruption and the taxation system.
