Swedish Trade Council in Singapore

The Swedish Trade Council’s offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines together form the Swedish Trade Council in ASEAN. The offices are also responsible for the Indonesian and Cambodian markets.

Singapore is Southeast Asia's most developed country and a major trading partner for the EU and U.S.. Singapore is the fourth largest financial center in the world with more than 7,000 global companies having their global or regional headquarters here. Since Singapore's independence, the government has continuously stimulated economic growth through the policies. Today, Singapore is an incredibly successful market economy with an investment-friendly environment, a well-functioning infrastructure and clearly defined laws.

Currently implemented major investments in research and development with a focus on bio techn and ICT and new industries such as environmental and water technologies. In all sectors there are great opportunities for Swedish companies today. Currently there are about 220 Swedish companies present in Singapore, and about 1,500 Swedes living here.

The Swedish Trade Council in Singapore supports Swedish companies wanting to establish themselves, or grow, in Singapore. The market was previously covered by our office in Kuala Lumpur but as of January 2008, the Swedish Trade Council is present in Singapore.
