Seminar “Technologies for Sustainability and Energy Efficiency” in Hotel Holiday Inn in Belgrade

The seminar was opened by Mr. Björn Linderfalk, Chargé d’affaires at the Embasy of Sweden in Serbia. Welcoming words were held by Ms. Elza Kazemi, Trade Commissioner of the Swedish Trade Council responsible for the Balkans.

The guests of the seminar had the privilege to hear presentations by Prof. Ivica Radović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Mr. Miloš Banjac, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Mining and Energy, Mr. Bojan Kovačić, Deputy Director at the Energy Efficiency Agency of the Republic of Serbia and Mr. Dejan Vasović, Assistant Mayor of the City of Belgrade. The presentations from the ministries, City of Belgrade and the Energy Efficiency Agency gave an overview of the current situation, the needs and future plans within the field of energy in Serbia.

The Swedish experience and know-how was presented by Mr. Gunnar Söderholm, Director Stockholm Environment and Health Administration, Håkan Dahlfors, Program Manager Environmental Technology at the Swedish Trade Council, the Swedish companies Fortum represented by Mr. Per J. Nylund from Strategy and Business Development, and Alfa Laval represented by Mats Carselid, Marketing Engineer, and Milan Erjavec, Regional Sales Manager.

Other Swedish companies presented at the event were: Ericsson (Mr. Antonio Passarella, Country Manager), ABB (Mr. Jovan Miladinović, Sales Engineer) and Seacove (Mr. Anders Ericsson, President and CEO, Mr. Steven Huynh, Vice President and COO and Sladjan Velicković, Technical Director).

A presentation about the possibilites of fundings of projects and shaping of a conductive business environment in Serbia was held by Mr. Nebojša Arsenijević from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The Seminar was an inspiration to Serbian authorities, companies and other guest, as well as a good introduction to the Serbian market for Swedish companies who are interested in investments in Serbia. The event was very successful and attracted more than 160 guests.
