Sustainable Development in Urban Areas, 22nd June, City hall, Grand Lyon

The Swedish Trade Council, the Swedish Embassy and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in France have joined forces within the project “Symbiocity activities in France 2009-2010”. The objectives are to inspire and establish long term cooperation between French and Swedish municipalities, companies and institutions, but also in order to promote Swedish companies within the areas of renewable energies, waste management, clean transportation etc.

A first project was carried out during the fall of 2009 with the cities of Stockholm and Paris and a conference was held on the 30th of November in Paris city hall. 144 participants, including 20 speakers, from 90 different companies/ organizations discussed the topic of urban sustainable development. We were very proud to have H.R.H the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden as one of our head speakers. The event was a success and over 90% of the participants were satisfied with the results.

Our following project, included a collaboration with Grand Lyon and Business Region Gothenburg. A seminar took place on June the 22nd, 2010 in Grand Lyon’s city hall.
