Swedish Trade Council in the Czech Republic

The Swedish Trade Council in the Czech Republic supports Swedish companies wanting to establish themselves, or grow, on the Czech market. We have been present since 1969 and today we have our office in central Prague.

The Czech economy has experienced a dynamic development in recent years. In 2007, the growth was around 6 per cent, where the automotive industry plays a constant key role in the national economy. The country is also an attractive destination for foreign investment and many international companies have their manufacturing plants and regional headquarters in the Czech Republic.

Trade between Sweden and the Czech Republic grew sharply in the context of EU enlargement in 2004 and the positive trend continues. Over 150 Swedish subsidiaries are currently established in the Czech Republic. This is mainly because of its location, the strong industrial tradition and skilled labour at a competitive cost.

Our local presence provides us with a unique knowledge of the market. We know the language and the business culture and we have over time built up a well-developed network, experience and detailed local knowledge.
