Speaking at a press conference in İstanbul on Wednesday, Klaus Gehrlicher, founder and CEO of Gehrlicher Solar AG, emphasized that Turkey has become an attractive market for solar power due to the country’s rapidly growing energy need. Gehrlicher was impressed with Energy Minister Taner Yıldız for recognizing Turkey’s potential for solar energy production. He said, “It was a clever decision for the minister to implement a pricing table for renewable energy with similar rates to regular electricity, which will increase investments in the field, support domestic production and lead to a growing and permanent market.” Noting the expectation that millions of euros will be invested in the Turkish solar energy market in the near future, Gehrlicher added that the encouraging actions of the minister have set the scene for the emergence of a Turkish solar energy market.read more
