Thanks to governmental funding the Swedish Trade Council can offer extended support to the Swedish environmental technology companies wishing to expand in the U.S. market. By offering a sustained effort to promote trade between Sweden and the United States the alliance aims to make it easier for companies that want to enter the U.S. market.
The Swedish Trade Council's efforts have been divided into three different tracks: Green Building, Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Transportation, areas for which Swedish companies have great potential on the U.S. market.
Activities in 2011 included e.g. networking events in both Stockholm and Washington DC, a Nordic pavilion at Greenbuild Expo in Toronto, identification of business opportunities in the U.S. within clean tech and a deeper analysis of the U.S. Water and Wastewater market. Even more activities are planned for 2012 and further information about these can be found in the menu to the right.

The S.A.G.A. Green Building track includes sectors such as energy and water efficiency, heating & cooling, alternative energy, urban planning, renewable materials and indoor environmental quality. The green building industry in the U.S. is growing at a high pace and offers great potential for Swedish companies.
The S.A.G.A Green Infrastructure track covers areas such as smart grids, water & wastewater management, green ICT, and renewable energy.
The U.S. transport sector is the largest in the world and account for 28% of the country’s total energy consumption. With record high carbon dioxide emissions from the transportation system and an increasing number of air, rail and vehicles passengers the transportation sector need dramatic change to become sustainable
